8th grade girls basketball

Busco’s Lady Eagles jumped out to a first quarter 11-2 lead and rode it to victory over Garrett’s Railroaders 25-16.  Brein Gross led the Lady Eagles with strong defense and scoring by dropping in 8 points.  Kyr’e Mercer and Clarissa Hogeston both chipped in with 5 points a piece.  Coach Mercer

Girls Basketball PLayer gets All-Conference Nod

Junior guard, Montana Martin was selected to the Girls NECC All-Conference team last night.  Montana was in the top 15 in the conference in the four main statistical categories.  Montana averaged 11.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals per game.  Congratulations Montana!!

7th and 8th grade girls basketball vs. Riverview

8th grade: Callie Lemper hit four 3-pointers and scored 14 points to power the Lady Eagles to a 29-18 victory over Riverview.  Riverview, a Huntington Middle School, led after one quarter 8-5.  Then, the Eagles outscored the Raiders 24-10 the rest of the way.  Helping Lemper in the scoring column were Brein Gross with 6

Shane Shroyer will participate in the IHSAA wrestling state finals

Coach Sam Riesen and wrestler Shane Shroyer were notified Thursday evening of the opportunity for Shane to be included in and compete at the IHSAA wrestling state finals this weekend in Indianapolis at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.  Shane will compete at the 145 LB weight class.  Competition begins at 6 PM Friday, February, 21st.  We wishes Shane

7th and 8th grade girls basketball vs. Prairie Heights

7th Grade: Tonight’s game was another great game.  The girls played really well together and just wanted that ball.  They were determined to pull out a victory and they did.  The score was Busco 23 vs Prairie Heights 8.  Leading the way again was Brooke Nondorf with 13 points, Bekah Huelsenbeck with 4 and Alayna

Sectional Win for Lady Eagles in First Round!

The Girls’ Basketball team defeated Bluffton in the 1st round of Sectionals last night with the final score being 36-29.  Leading the way for the Eagles was Montana Martin wtih 21 points and Jazlyn Needler with 7.  Their next game is tomorrow night in the sectional semi-final against Canterbury with the game starting at 7:30.

Busco 43, West Noble 48

On Monday, Busco almost knocked off a tough West Noble team, but fell 43-48.  Churubusco got off to an impressive start wtih a 15 to 3 lead after the 1st quarter.  West Noble slowly got back in the game and ended up beating Busco by 5, in a hard fought game.  Busco was led in

Busco Beat Garrett 46-41

On Saturday night, Busco gave Garrett their 4th loss on the year with a total team effort.  Churubusco as a team shot 82% from the free-throw line and was led by Blake Gross who was an outstanding 19 for 20.  With those 19 free throws, Blake ended up with 27 points and 5 rebounds.  TJ

Lady Eagles 44-Lakeland 58

Lady Eagles’ can’t shake off cold start lose in regular season finally @ Lakeland.  The Lady Eagles concluded their regular season at Lakeland last night.  The Eagles could not spoil another senior night.  The combination of a slow start for the Eagles and a blistering 61% first half shooting for the Lakers saw the Eagles
